The staff at SpencerCity Bar & Grill have had many reasons to celebrate since opening in 2016. The restaurant, which is located inside of the restored historic Spencerville Hotel, will be hosting a 3rd Anniversary Party on Saturday, August 10. The daylong celebration will take place from 11:00am - 11:00pm.

There will be live music from 6:00-10:00pm, featuring Spencer Scharf performing a mix of folk rock, classics and blues. There event will feature giveaways, a "throwback" menu bringing back customer favourite menu items from the past three years. An anniversary video will also be presented.

The event has been planned as a thank you to both loyal and new customers for making SpencerCity such a success in the small town.

"The business has expanded quite a bit in three years. We started with only 40 seats inside and ten on our second-floor balcony looking over Spencerville. A year later we expanded by another 55 seats, including a ten-seat patio on the sidewalk because we had a line up for dinner every night! We have had multiple cooks and servers - with Erica, Chelsea and Jason being here from the very beginning. Our menu started out with about ten items and has now expanded to over 50 items," said Front of House Manager Chelsea Amell of the ever-growing business.

The local hotspot has hit its stride since opening, finding the balance that keeps customers coming back. More exciting changes are in the works for the future.

"We change our menu seasonally, subbing in new items and keeping the customer favourites. We are always evolving at SpencerCity. We change our craft beer selection daily and are always looking for new beers and breweries to bring in. The back area has been approved for an 80-seat patio, most likely opening in summer 2020.

SpencerCity has been giving back to the community since day one. Menu items include the Legion Fish & Chips - for every Fish & Chips meal sold, a donation of $1 is made to Spencerville Legion, and the Fire-grilled Pizza - for every Fire-grilled pizza (new item) sold, $1 is donated to the Spencerville Fire Department. $1 from each item sold off the Kids menu is donated to Centennial 67 Public School in Spencerville.

Along with their ever-evolving menu, the location is host to a myriad of local events, including trivia nights on the first Wednesday of every month, live music twice monthly including Jono Townsend, The Valley Shantyman, Spencer Scharf, Joel Suave Duo and many more popular musicians, and paint and sign-making classes.

"Thank you for making this dream into a reality. Who would have thought that in the little town of Spencerville such a successful and busy restaurant would thrive? We have many regular and returning customers and that's who have made SpencerCity what it is today. We look forward to serving you for many more years! said Amell.
