Raymond Bourque and the Big Bad Bruins coming to Brockville
BROCKVILLE - The 2017 version of the Brockville Winter Classic will be a little bit later...and a whole lot bigger and badder.
In a media event hosted at the Canadian Tire Brockville location on Monday, the Brockville Winter Classic Committee in collaboration with the Rotary Park Revitalization Committee announced that the highlight of this year's three-day festival will be a visit from the Boston Bruins alumni team. Playing for the Bruins squad when they face off against the Canadian Tire All Stars on Sunday, March 5 will be long-time Bruin and NHL legend Raymond Bourque.
The 3rd annual Winter Classic Weekend is being held Friday, March 3 to Sunday, March 5, slightly later in the season than last year.
Proceeds from the event will continue to be used to upgrade Brockville's Rotary Park. The facility, available free of charge to residents in South Grenville, is currently in the final phases of a plan that would see the outdoor pad receive the installation of a much needed roof.
