OPP ready to serve
The Grenville County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are thrilled to announce that Police Officers, from the Prescott Detachment, will be volunteering to serve up meals, at the King's Kitchen in Prescott, on Wednesday, May, 17 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The OPP have chosen this date because it coincides with Police Week, which runs from May 14 to May the 20. Since 1970, Police Week has been observed in May to coincide with the Peace Officers Memorial Day, which is recognized internationally. The OPP wish to promote this year's theme of, "working together for safer communities.
The OPP are looking forward to connecting with members of the public, at the King's Kitchen community supper.
In addition to officers serving food, there will be a display of police equipment in the parking lot.
King's Kitchen dinners are held in the cafeteria of South Grenville District High School, on Edward Street in Prescott. The cost is free, but donations are accepted.
